Inside Scoop: SPIN Magazine’s MLB NYC Party

Hello friends,

Yes we were there, yes we said hello to Albert Hammond Jr, yes we got his autograph and yes, his show was amazing. We had the privilege of spending the entire day with SPIN Magazine and the entire night at the party and it was quite the experience. The venue (Hiro) filled up quickly and the people were friendly with a good mix of indie folk who were there for the Albert Hammond Jr. performance. He played mostly songs off the new album during the performance which got everyone pretty excited. The only possible complaint was that the show was too loud for the venue, but who cares? It was amazing. The people from SPIN were nice enough to let us go in the VIP area where all the heads of SPIN and other popular news organizations were like writers from the New York Times. Overall the VIP section had an overall more calming feeling compared to the dance floor downstairs. The VIPs got treated to fresh sushi and a free bar. Most of the VIPS left happy with a gift bag filled with their own copy of the new game, some demos, a T-shirt as well as Skull Candy Headphones. On the main level there was drinks all around and even a little dance off between Jeff Silverstein (from the band The Owls Go) and a random blonde girl on the dance floor. The SPIN MLB kickoff party was a good time with no drama just what was expected. There is another SPIN party this Friday at Roseland Ballroom.

More pictures to come.

Cheers from all of us here at Lonely Hollows.
